RE: Jumpseat Riders and Concord, NC
This memo is in regards to the recent G.O.M. change to page F.42 on Jumpseat
Riders. This recent change states the company policy of allowing to carry more
than one Jumpseat Rider, however US Airways Express division does not share
the same thoughts on this policy. US Airways Express would like to see a
common policy among its Express carriers. So as to follow in suite with their
"only one jumpseat Rider" policy, we will have to respect their wishes and
implement the same policy at CCAIR. From what I understand on why more
than one jumpseat Rider is not allowed, is that agents who board more than one
jumpseat Rider are forced to list the overage as Non-Rev's because the
computer does not accept more than one jumpseat entry. Then there is an
accounting problem, where as a Delta Captain was loaded as a jumpseat Rider
but closed out as a Non-Rev with no ID-90 ticket to show for it, now the
accounting books are off. In closing, I would like to apologize for any confusion
on this matter but the decision was made over CCAIR. A formal G.O.M. change
will be made soon concerning this matter. If you have any questions on this or
any other topic, please call me at 704-359-5521.
On another note, you will notice Concord, North Carolina has been added to our
jepps Airways Manual and the J32 Airport Analysis. This airport is not a part of
our Op Specs and is not to be considered as a "suitable" airfield per the G.O.M.
Future plans are to include Concord, North Carolina in certain Supplemental
Operations.
Thank you,
r.
